E Mirror

University of Centaurus just achieved a breakthrough in a research project, code named "E-Mirror". Headed by prestigious Dr. Kumiko Kobayashi and Dr. Johnathan Watanabe, project "E-Mirror" or Emotional Mapping, Interconversion Recognition and Reactionary Output Reappropriation, promises to bridge the final gap in human communication: perfect empathy.

Described as the closest thing to reliving and experiencing another's state of mind, Dr. Kobayashi explained the complexity behind the ten-year collaborative process between Centaurs University with the AI department of Yamato Corporation.

"When we first set out on our task of transferring emotional packages, as we called them, we quickly realized that the standard T implant module could not handle the bandwidth. Although many people enjoy a telepathy-like communication via T implant, with the complexity of our endeavor we might as well have started with an archaic telegraph. So we knew right away, this would be a cross-disciplinary task, involving our esteemed colleagues at the Artificial Intelligence field of Yamato corporation."

Furthermore, she speaks about breaking barriers on the way and even the colossal task of teaching the AI to feel.

"It was important for us to differentiate simple stimulation of senses that mimic joy, fear, trust.. and individual experience of those feelings. Each emotion is unique, like a fingerprint. My feelings of surprise are different each time, let alone compared to a stranger. Neural pulses could mimic universal anger and even stimulate it in a subject, but to compare those two individual interpretations, might as well be in two different languages. So we needed a perfect translator. AI was the only answer."

The head AI sculptor, Dr. Johnathan Watanabe embraced this challenge. "Of course the AI is already aware of a whole range of human emotions, that is why it's so good at anticipating our needs. The issue at hand is whether it could record and credibly reproduce it, adapting it for each Individual without losing information in the process. We enlisted more than 150 subjects to record their emotional responses over the span of 9 years. Each subject was monitored by 500 specifically sculpted AI. A year ago, we achieved a 99% reflection of an emotional response in cross-subject testing. As we advance forward, a brand new possibility presented itself to us.

Could we finally upload the entire human consciousness in an artificial housing with all emotional packages? It's fun to think about, but we may still have years away. We are proud of this project, and all the people and AI working on it."

E-mirror is great!

I have an E-mirror technology update installed in my Fujin hover-cycle AI suite. It is almost like having a friend rather than an ordinary emotionless smart vehicle.
