Medical Screening

An Interplanetary Visa is required for all persons migrating off-world. Those looking to live on another planet will have to undergo a formal medical screening and DNA screening for genetic anomalies. One screening will be performed pre-departure and a second on arrival. Here’s a brief rundown of what you may be required to provide to the authorities and what to expect after arrival as far as medical checks are concerned.

Before your medical check it is important that you remember to:

  1. Skip breakfast the morning of the medical check

  2. Continue to take any prescribed medication and take it with you to the exam for inspection.

  3. Dress sensibly and comfortably. As X-rays will be conducted it’s not a good idea to wear a skirt or dress.

If you are being sponsored by the Military or Government Mining Corp, a representative will accompany you to a country level government hospital for your medical check.

You will be required to take the following with you:

a) Your passport

b) Photocopies of passport material pages including; picture and information page, visa page, entry stamp page

c) 5 passport style photos. Photo shops are always located close by or next to government hospitals and Public Security Bureaus

d) The medical check fee of $2,250.

e) A list of what vaccinations you have already had.

f) For anyone in your immigrating family with mental retardation or learning disabilities, a report of their condition and any special educational or supervision requirements.

(g) If you have any history of harmful or violent behavior resulting in injury to people or animals, or harm to inanimate objects, information that will allow the doctor to determine whether the behavior was related to a psychiatric or medical problem, or to drug or alcohol use. Harmful behavior includes attempted suicide or self-harm, no matter how minor in nature.

(h) If you have been treated or hospitalized for psychiatric or mental illness, or alcohol or drug abuse, written certification including the diagnosis, length of treatment, and your prognosis.

(i) If you are being treated for a chronic medical condition or taking medication on a regular basis, be ready to explain your conditions and give the names of the medications. You might want to prepare a list.

You should schedule your examination at least 2 weeks before departure. Examinations upon arrival may require that you stay in quarantine for up to 2 months.
